After the setting of the sun on Friday evening, an unremarkable black Lexus sedan with darkly tinted windows arrives. The driver, an equally unremarkable man, steps out and opens the right rear passenger door, from which steps a smartly dressed, freshly pressed Gracen. He is going through the motions of buttoning the navy pinstripe jacket of his three piece suit with a small, contented smile on his face, smoothing the lavender shirt and straightening the beige and gold tie that completes the ensemble. He turns to point out for the driver where to park the Lexus and gives a quiet bit of instruction as well, then heads for the door to knock.
The sounds around the mansion are quiet this early on Friday night. Gracen is shown through and into a large room clearly made for such a purpose. A large fireplace dominates one end of the room, casting a warm glow across the deep colored hardwood floor. Side by side hang the coat of arms of the Savage family, and equal in size the crest of the Invictus. There is a smallish round table near by that contains a bottle of lacrima baring the Sutter label, four crystal glasses inlaid with gold around their lip, and a medium sized cherry wood box engraved with a rampant lion on the top. Also hanging from one of the walls are three glass cases, each holding within it large scrolls.Evelyn stands near the fire place, hand resting on the marble mantle, looking into the flames.. She is dressed in her crimson victorian evening gown, black gloves covering her hands and arms. She wears a single silver ring on her right hand and a golden lily bracelet around the left wrist. Standing near her are her dobermans, looking as regal as possible.
Roxy is standing off to the side, looking mildly uncomfortable. she is dressed in a black tailored suit, relieved only by a dark green blouse. Pinned to her lapel is a delicate pin of a lily. Waist length black curls are pinned back loosley, so they are just out of her face, and still looking like they are falling loose.
She has a matched pair of her own dobermans, though obviously still puppies, quietly at her feet, looking slightly puppy bored.Gracen steps into the room and bows adroitly to Evelyn, his eyes flickering across both women briefly with a warm smile.
"Good evening, Alder Lady Savage. I am present as you have requested, though it may amuse you to know that I am already acquainted with the other...Lady, in the room."
He smiles very...VERY wryly and nods to Roxy.Roxy's eyes widen slightly at the sound of his voice, a slow smirk curls her lips and she shakes her head
Evelyn raises an eyebrow slowly..
"I was not aware.. Might I enquire Sir Montgomery as to how you know Ms. O'Conner?"Roxy's hand covers her mouth, smothering her smile, looking at him expectantly."Of course, of course, Alder Lady."
He smiles, the expression deceptively mild and benign.
"Roxanne is a cousin of mine, through my mother's side."
He doesn't look over at Roxy at all during this exchange.
Evelyn smiles slightly, one of a dark realization..
"She of course, knows to whom you are related?" She pauses before he can answer, "William is bringing one final needed item before we can begin.."Gracen continues his relaxed posture and benign smile, nodding at the revelation that William is coming with a final item. He finally looks over at Roxy, arching an eyebrow.
"I ah...I actually don't know."
"Good evening Roxy."
Roxy looks confused for a moment at evelyns remark. "Hi Gracey."
Evelyn looks to Roxy for a moment and shakes her head..."Perhaps when we are finished Sir Montgomery would be so kind as to fill in the family tree."
William enters the hall carrying a large great sword with the Savage crest on the hilt of the blade. He is wearing a black suit with a grey shirt and a crimson tie and the invictus and venture emblems on his lapels. He walks up to Evelyn and then turns to face Gracen and Roxy his white eyes meeting theirs.
Roxy looks utterly confused about the family commentary, She glances from Gracen to William to Evelyn.
